Through Ludvigsen's distinct percussive explorations - and utilization of heavy synth and noise textures, autotuned vocals as well as a diverse range of acoustic instrumentation - the album paints a picture of a manic mind searching for meaning in chaos. At its most devastating peaks, Sadboy Fusion instills the feeling of being completely overtaken, before the storm surrenders again with tranquil passages of melodic warmth and nostalgia. The album's 10 tracks ebb and flow naturally making for an intricate and deeply human listening experience.

Ludvigsen's deconstructed pop songwriting is experimental at its core, with virtuosic rhythms and hairpin shifts in dynamics. Yet the complexity of the music is subliminal, buried under a thick, fuzzy blanket of melodic honesty, emotional immediacy and vibe. A truly singular and fully-formed first offering, Sadboy Fusion establishes J. Ludvig III as a unique artist dead-set on exploring the gaps between the complex and the naïve - between the confused and clear-sighted.

Ludvigsen says of the album:

»‘Sadboy Fusion’ is a safe space for the ideas I couldn't share in Athletic Progression, where good friends but also big egos sometimes collide. I wanted to make art that diverged from the overly masculine ethos that is so prevalent in the current music environment. J. Ludvig III is a backlash to all that - it's me embracing my juvenile vulnerability, exploring my big love for forbidden elements, and then fusing that intuition with the more intellectual musician in me who wants to push boundaries and who strives continually to re-shape my own artistic aesthetic.«
